Candace Maddin

As the Co-Founder and President of Create a Change Now, Candace Maddin brings nearly 30 years of highly successful business development and management experience to this non-profit organization. After 15 years of experience in the airline industry, Candace took her career to another level when she co-founded one of Nevada’s largest Health Insurance Brokerages, Custom Benefit Consultants, Inc., (CBC). She took her agency nationwide with the development of the Costco Health Insurance Plans offered to individuals and business members. With her company’s strong emphasis on customer service, CBC was voted two years in a row as “Best Places to Work” by the Southern Nevada Association of Human Resources.
Her love of cooking inspired her to attend the Cordon Blue Cooking School in England and throughout the years she studied cooking with Jaques Pepin, Alice Waters, Martha Stewart, Flo Braker and many other renowned chefs.
Her experience as a successful executive, business owner, wife and mom added with her caring heart and loving soul results in a perfect combination to run a non-profit that will give children of the next generation the education they need to make better choices for their health.

Dr. Charlotte Morgan ND

Dr. Charlotte Morgan ND, has over 18 years’ experience in healthcare and has an expert understanding of today’s health challenges. She has worked in naturopathy with Bastyr University, Northwestern Acupuncture Institute and Seattle School of Massage in the State of Washington. She also created successful alternative care clinics within skilled nursing facilities for patients, families and staff with Complementary Care of Minnesota.

Dr. Morgan is a foremost authority in the development of unique wellness programs for men and women. Dr. Morgan works with area MD’s to coordinate care for autoimmune disorders, pain management and bio identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). Dr. Morgan provides consultation for national healthcare organizations, home health and regional pharmacies in Nevada and California. She has also developed a corporate wellness program called Natural Focus Provider program. This provider program fuses western health care with complementary alternative medicine within corporations and organizations. Dr. Morgan operates a private practice in Las Vegas, Nevada called Core Health, where she assists families in creating balanced health.

She has two daughters ages 11 and 13 and has a passion for teaching the next generation how important it is to make healthier food choices.

Geri Lynn Grossan

Geri Lynn Grossan, MEd, RD, CDE, is a registered dietitian, nutrition coach and certified diabetes educator with over 25 years of experience educating and motivating individuals to achieve their optimal state of nutritional well being.

Geri Lynn holds an MEd, Health Promotion from UNLV with High Academic Honors, a BS in Foods and Nutrition from San Diego State University Magna Cum Laude, and has received many prestigious honors including Young Dietitian of the Year, State of Nevada, American Dietetic Association and Outstanding Community Service Award, American Heart Association. Geri Lynn works with individuals and large business clients throughout the US. Businesses include Pepsi Bottling Company, State of Nevada Desert-Regional Center, College of Southern Nevada, Canyon Ranch SpaClub, Greenspun Media Group, ALS of Nevada, Adult Day Care Center of Las Vegas, Private Practice at Pueblo Medical Center, and Amethyst Salon & Wellness Spa.

Geri Lynn is actively involved in a variety of public speaking engagements on health and wellness related topics. Some of these speaking engagements include corporate wellness presentations, health awareness seminars at educational institutions, group presentations at community centers for both teens and seniors, and T.V. appearances to promote optimal health. Practicing what she preaches, Geri Lynn's daily personal lifestyle includes regular physical activities such as walking, tennis, swimming, hiking, yoga, and pilates, as well as disciplined eating habits and nutritional supplementation. Her philosophy follows Hippocrates, "Let food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food".

Nancy Glass-Stone

Nancy serves as the volunteer Executive Director and comes to Create a Change now with over fifteen years’ experience in medical sales.  She was recruited by the National Headquarters of Snelling and Snelling to become VP of their Health Care Division.  After completing the task of establishing that division, she was promoted to area vice president for NYC and New Jersey and was responsible for overseeing and training thirty two independently owned franchisee operations.  She ended her career after working for a group practice management/physician recruitment firm in NYC to become a full time mother.  As the demands of motherhood diminished, Nancy began volunteering her time at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center in the Special Care and Neonatal Care Nursery.  She has been there for over five years now.  Nancy also volunteers for the Assistance League of Las Vegas as puppeteer for children.  She has also been involved in the National Charity League serving on the Board of Directors as well as a grade level advisor for her class. The National Charity League is a mother daughter philanthropic organization that has over 300 chapters throughout the United States.  She continues to be a sustaining member.  In addition, Nancy volunteers her time to Babies Bounty.  Babies Bounty is a non profit organization that provides the most essential items to babies in need to ensure that they thrive.  Having fought childhood obesity herself, Nancy is both excited and dedicated to helping children overcome this problem through the education that Create a Change can provide.

Chef Thomas Trevethan

Certified Executive Pastry Chef Thomas Trevethan began his pastry career at the age of 16 with a four year apprenticeship as a Pastry Cook in Sydney, Australia under the instruction of World Champion M.O.F. Pastry Chef, Herve Boutin. After receiving his Tradesman’s Papers, Thomas continued his education in the best pastry schools in Paris, France, where he studied under World Champion M.O.F. Pastry Chefs. While in Paris Thomas undertook the DGF Culinary School Course in Advance Sugar Showpiece production.

Chef Thomas was employed by Harrods of Knightsbridge London, and by hotels in Cannes, Nice and Monte Carlo in France. He then spent several years at The Sheraton Hotel as Pastry chef in Stockholm Sweden. He then spent three years traveling the world in the luxury cruise liner industry, working first for the six star 1000 passenger ship Crystal Cruise Lines. He then joined the Silver Seas Cruise Lines, the foremost small cruise line in the world. Chef Thomas was the Executive Pastry Chef for The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Cancun, Mexico for 4 years. He was a member for the pastry Advisory board and assisted in the Openings of the Ritz Carlton South Beach Miami, Grand Cayman Island and Cancun Mexico.

In 2008 Chef Thomas attained Certification from the American Culinary Association of Certified Executive Pastry Chef (CEPC), and he holds the western chair for the National American Culinary Federation pastry advisory board and is an active member.

In February, 2010, Chef Thomas attended Michelle Obama's launch of her Let's Move campaign and Chef's Move to Schools Initiative at the White House in Washington, D.C.

Chuck Ley

As the Senior Worldwide Executive Vice President for 19 years at Petronic International Inc., a high tech manufacturing company headquartered in the Silicon Valley of California, Chuck was instrumental in the advancement of manufacturing products for various high tech industries, including credit card terminals. Thereafter, Chuck was recruited by Castlewood Systems, also located in the Silicon Valley of California as V.P. of Worldwide Operations and COO, as he managed one of the world’s largest removable hard-drive manufacturing companies.

Later relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada, Chuck founded Cornerstone Merchant Services, Inc ., an independently licensed merchant service provider focusing on offering full service business solutions. As President and CEO, Chuck’s hard work ethic, company philosophy for integrity and veracity to help and service business owners has served to separate Cornerstone aside from others in his industry. 98% of new business that Cornerstone receives, including schools and non-profit organizations throughout the country, comes from referrals.

Chuck is eager to contribute to the Create A Change Now organization by assisting in leadership and continue to make a positive difference in the lives of our future generations today and every day.

Nancy Brune

Dr. Brune is a published author and policy analyst at Sandia National Laboratories. Dr. Brune has consulted for the Harvard School of Public Health and the World Bank where she worked on issues of public health, social capital, and public sector reform. She serves as an adjunct instructor at the College of Southern Nevada. Dr. Brune is an active member of the community. She is on the board of the Nevada Wilderness Project and Girls on the Run Las Vegas, and served on Clark County’s Citizen Review Board and the Committee on Community Priorities. Dr. Brune is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), a bilingual mediator with the Neighborhood Justice Center and a member of the Red Cross Disaster Response Team.

Dr. Brune received her Ph.D. from Yale University, and Master of Public Policy and B.A. degrees from Harvard University. She was awarded research fellowships at Princeton University’s Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance and the University of Pennsylvania. Following graduate school, Dr. Brune was a community organizer in rural Nicaragua where she planted and harvested beans and vegetables and educated kids on issues of nutrition and public health. She credits her love of gardens, vegetables (even brussels sprouts) and healthy eating to the home gardens she and her parents grew on their 20 acres of land in Bastrop, Texas when she was young. She enjoys gardening with her three small children and recognizes that building healthy communities starts by empowering the youngest members of the family to take charge and make a difference.

Michele Tell

Michele D. Tell-Woodrow, co-principal and founder of Preferred Public Relations which handles a
variety of practices, including business, retail, hospitality, gaming and service organizations for clients
in Las Vegas and out of market. Tell-Woodrow is active in the community and handles PR services for
numerous nonprofit organizations, including: AIPAC – American Israel Political Action Committee, Susan
G. Komen, Food and Beverage Directors Association and more. In addition, Tell-Woodrow serves on
several boards and committees, including: the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce (Board of Trustee,
2009-2010 and co-chair, Minority and Women Owned Businesses Committee, 2010-2011), The Shade
Tree (Public Relations & Marketing Committee, 2010-2011), Jewish Community Center (marketing
committee, 2010-2011), Adelson Educational Campus Scholastic Book Fair 2010 (Volunteer, Co-Chair)
and Congresswoman Shelley Berkley’s Women’s Advisory Council (Volunteer). She is a wife and mother
and very excited to be involved in educating our children on healthier eating habits.
